OUR JANUARY DUO

Wilbur and Elvis surveying their surroundings before getting on the plane to their new lives

So how lucky was Mal to get away today after the horrendous weather this week but luck would have it that the wind died down, the rain took a holiday and at 10am Mal set off to fetch our first two dogs of the year.

So welcome to our shores Wilbur and Elvis (the latter proving to be a very popular greyhound name we now have 3 Elvis's) mind you not sure they have the voice and hip action of the original!!!

This lucky pair decided racing was not on their agenda and both only did a handful of races, Wilbur packing it in after only 8 races in December 2013 and Elvis after 14 races in September 2014.

The Cowdery family lost their two greyhounds, Dinky and Meg last year and they have been missed so much that Kath came to us and said they needed dogs in their lives again, so enter Wilbur a black 3 year old and Elvis a white and black 3 year old.

Once again Sharon from Brambleberry RGT found us these two youngsters and Joe brought them down to the airport to be, once again, transported by Chris in his little red and white plane. Chris is off to South Africa for three weeks so it was essential we got them here today. Hopefully by the time he returns we will have another couple of homes, we do have one already.

Wilbur and Elvis meet their new owners, Kath and her dad Jeff.

Carol, Kath's mum and Philip Kath's brother are at home awaiting the arrival
