ALISON TO THE RESCUE

I am taking this opportunity to inform people who don't already know, of Mal being seriously ill. He has been in hospital for the last four months and it's going to be a long haul. We are continuing to home but events will be few and far between this year as I cannot get the trailer to places plus there is no-one at home to sit with the dogs if I am at a fete. Please keep checking as events will appear but all are subject to change. Right now where was I!!

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from a lady called Toni who is at present at University but knew her mum and dad, who live in Guernsey, were considering taking a greyhound on. Mal has no access to the internet in hospital so all the arrangement were done via phone in hospital and emails at home. I know that at some time I am going to have to get on that little plane as it will probably be a long time before Mal can travel. It's a scary thought but needs must.

Then Alison said she would be over at their place in Gloucester and could make arrangements with Sharon from Brambleberry RGT to pick a stunning little (well not so little) blue and white four year old up and bring her back on the boat with her guys and stop off and deliver in Guernsey. Well how amazing was that and a relief that I get a reprieve from that little plane this time.

Al made arrangements to meet Sharon near Birmingham and little Missy (or Lily as she is now to be known) said goodbye and travelled to Alison's house where she met about 10 of her dogs who frequently travel with her. True to form they all sniffed said hi then it was like they had always known her. Unfortunately I never get to meet the Guernsey homings (well sometimes) but I have it on good authority (Alison and John) that she is stunning.

Have just spoken to Alison and she got off in Guernsey so as she could have a good chat to Jill everything has gone according to plan and hopefully Al will be back in Jersey by about 7.30

It only remains for me now to say the biggest thank-you to Alison and John for getting her back to Guernsey and putting my plane trip on hold and of course to Sharon for finding her and meeting Al half way.
