  5TH GREAT BRITISH GREYHOUND WALK

Just getting lined up ready the start the walk

Well we struck a happy medium for our walk today, as many of you will know we only seem to have extremes, either pouring with rain or blistering hot. It was warm but being able to walk along the beach proved very beneficial as it kept it cooler.

We have had a great deal of losses over the past year so numbers were down but we all had a great time and as per usual our owners and dogs were in 'brilliant condition'!!.

We were joined this year by one of our Guernsey owners Mick with his two magnificant dogs Monty and Blue, Mick just came over for the day especially to do the walk, he reckons he is going to try and get some of our other owners in Guernsey to come next year, there are quite a few so maybe they could get a good deal on Condor (are you listening Condor!!).

Mick with Monty and Blue over from Guernsey

Along the way we met up with Gunner Ian Kearns who was off to the castle for a Jersey Militia Re-enactment he kindy had a photo taken with Monty and Blue

Gunner Ian Kearns (oh I do like a man in uniform!!)

Every Saturday and Sunday our good friend Julie and Lara if she is not at work, come and walk Quinn, Ziggy and alternate Teddy and Gump. Today was no exception and hiding from the camera, but unsuccessfully, are the two of them with Gump, Quinn and Ziggy.

Gotcha!

They also spoil them rotton and at the end of the walk these three were treated to ice-cream not that it lasts very long, tried to get a shot before the cornets disappeared by not quick enough

Ice-cream just disappearing down Quinn's throat, Gump's and Ziggy's already gone

We had a couple of non hounds join us, Doris the Dachshund and Martha the Retriever

Upps sideway on Doris and Scout will rectify hopefully

Martha the Retriever found it all too warm and cooled off in a rather seaweedy pool but did she care - na

Martha has only been with Nicky about two months and is a rescue from Poole Puppies

So there you have it another walk successfully completed and once again our thanks to all our owners and their dogs for turning up and making this event happen. See you all again next year
